This year's Banned Books Week celebration was a huge success. We locked the library to build awareness, and we asked students to complete a survey about why they wanted the library to be re-opened. The number one answer: "I want a nice place to do my homework." That was followed closely by "I want to check out books," which made us all very happy. In the busy scramble that can be the high school experience, it's easy for more active pursuits to rise to the forefront of people's minds. So, we want to say thank you to everyone who celebrated with us, and we especially want to thank all of our dedicated student readers! |
